Kylemore Abbey2

Kylemore Abbey, located in Connemara, County Galway, is a stunning Benedictine monastery and one of Ireland's most popular visitors’ attractions. Originally built as Kylemore Castle in 1868 by Mitchell Henry, a wealthy doctor and politician, the estate spans 1,000 acres and includes a beautiful Victorian Walled Garden. The castle was later transformed into an abbey in 1920 by Benedictine nuns who fled Belgium during World War I.
