Located a 40-minute drive from Ballynahinch, Glengowla Mines gives you a real insight to how lead and silver was mined in Connemara in the 1800’s. This fun filled family day out offers a guided underground tour of the long-abandoned mine, which will give you an insight to how lead and silver is mined.
The museum has artefacts discovered during mining and excavation of the site. Gold Panning at Glengowla Mines is great fun for all the family and the Working Farm offers some unique experiences, from sheep dog demonstrations to turf cutting (when in season).
