We At Ballynahinch Castle Hotel were delighted to become part of this prestigious family in November 2022. We strive to follow Relais & Châteaux’s Five Cs of Charm, Courtesy, Character, Cuisine and Calm. By meeting the associations high standards, we are become one of 7 hotels in Ireland to be awarded this accolade.

The Relais & Châteaux group comprises of 580 luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants worldwide, with a rich history dating back to 1954. Originally, it had eight hotels along the Paris-to-French-Riviera route, but it has since expanded globally, earning Michelin stars for its culinary excellence. At present there is 7 hotels including Ballynahinch Castle in the Relais & Châteaux group in Ireland.

located in the heart of Connemara, County Galway, Ireland, set on a 700-acre private estate of woodlands, rivers, and walks, our Castle exudes genuine Irish character. We overlook our renowned salmon fishery of the Owenmore River with the backdrop of the beautiful 12 Bens Mountain range.

Our hotel’s restaurant, The Owenmore Restaurant led by Executive Head Chef Danni Barry, was named Ireland’s Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant of the Year in January 2024 at the Gold Medal Awards. We also serve Food in our Fisherman’s Pub, were in both we prioritise local and estate produce, creating exceptional culinary experiences.
